Alpaca wool is used to create a variety of textiles, ranging from blankets and ponchos, to scarves, gloves and jumpers / sweaters. More recently they are being kept as 'guard dogs' for sheep with young lambs, as they will successfully protect the lambs against possible fox attacks at night.
