Alpaca wool is used to weave and knit everything from sweaters, hats and scarves, to socks and blankets, all of which are especially warm. The clothing is often worn in the winter months. Alpacas are also being kept on farms due to their feisty and protective nature, since they are proven guard dogs for young lambs at night-time, preventing potential attacks from hungry foxes.
