Holstein Friesian cattle have long been a popular breed of dairy cow, since they reliably produce large quantities of milk each day. American farmers started to breed and use Friesians as dairy cattle almost 200 years ago, while they are believed to originate from The Netherlands or Germany in the early part of the 17th century.
