This type of 'built-up' roofing has been used for decades to cover flat roofs and extensions, as well as sheds, summer houses and other garden buildings. Felt roofs may be relatively cheap and easy to fit, but they are being replaced with long-lasting alternatives, such as environmentally friendly single-ply membranes.
