The front gardens outside the terraced houses are a mixture of seasonal flowers, evergreen shrubs and neat green lawns, which are edged by a long tarmac asphalt pavement / sidewalk. Many of these small terraced houses are owned by buy-to-let landlords, with people renting them out as they can't afford mortgages in the current climate.
