Block-paving is a popular way to surface driveways outside of houses, although it can be a costly choice, over tarmac and gravel options. The process requires digging up the driveway to laying a substantial hardcore base (compacted with a 'wacker' plate compactor machine), before a layer of sand and then the bricks themselves.
