Wooden piers are a common sight in seaside towns all over the world, with this particular pier being located within the beach town of Swanage, within the English county of Dorset, on the famous Jurassic Coast. The pier is well maintained, due to a combination of successful fundraising and also much-welcomed heritage lottery grants.
