The bird bath has become extremely weathered over the years, appearing more like carved granite than actually being cast from a fibreglass mould. Lichens and moss have covered the surface. These can be encouraged to grow on new statues by painting them with a mixture of yoghurt and moss seeds, or even using superglue to stick on lichens or small pieces of moss.
