Duck houses such as this one are the perfect place for waterfowl to both nest and roost at night, away from the night-time predators that live on the land, such as foxes. However, they will never be entirely safe wherever they choose to nest, since some of their predators can swim, such as mink, while large pike fish have been known to eat young ducklings swimming on the surface.
