The size of the entrance hole will denote what birds are able to access the box and nest inside. A hole of 25 mm will be perfect for coal and blue tits, while 28 mm is suitable for great tits and hedge sparrows. House sparrows require a slightly larger hole of 32 mm, which is also suitable for nuthatches.
