This particular landscaped Japanese garden has grown up around its koi pond, which is very much central to the overall design. The koi carp are between five and ten years old, being mainly orange and yellow ogons, red and white kohakus, and some ghost koi. Various Japanese maples provide much seasonal interest around the edge of the pond, while a red and black teahouse is overhanging the water, with its verandah providing a space to sit and watch the fish, as well as hiding the substantial filtration system.
