Leylandii is the perfect choice for a quick-growing evergreen hedge. However, Leyland cypress grows so quickly that it can soon outgrow its space. This can be especially problematic, since this species cannot be cut back to bare wood, as it won't bud back in the same way that many other coniferous, evergreen and deciduous trees will, such as thuja and laurel.
