Keeping a garden lawn green, compact and weed free requires regular mowing several times a week during the summer, as well as watering in dry weather and plenty of feeding. A simple way to keep the grass free from weeds is to carry a penknife or pair of scissors as you mow and remove troublesome dandelions as and when you spot them, while you cut the lawn.
