Block paving is a popular choice for paths and driveways, although the process can be quite costly and time-consuming. Block-paved footpaths are laid on a sub-base of aggregate / gravel, which is compacted (using a plate vibrator) before the bricks along the edge are cemented into place and a layer of sand is added, to level the pathway, ready for the arrangement of blocks / bricks.
