This picture shows the side of the house, where an ivy plant was previously climbing up the wall and potentially damaging the mortar in between the brickwork. The ivy was cut off at the base and then allowed to dieback, so that it could be more easily pulled off the wall when the aerial roots along its stems are fully dead and dried up.
