At first glance this lantern appears to be an expensive granite lantern, although it is actually homemade, using a series of simple moulds and reconstituted stone. Over the years, the stone has started to naturally weather and age itself, attracting moss and lichen, making it appear old and almost like a garden antique, rather than a cheap concrete pillar. Its appearance is also softened with oriental bamboo, Japanese maples (acer palmatum) and grey pebbles.
