This picture shows a summer lavender farm with straight rows of purple flowers. These lavandula plants are being farmed for their highly perfumed essential oil production and dried seed heads, which are used for pot pourri. Each year after flowering, the plants are clipped hard, to promote fresh new growth and a mass of flower buds the following year.
