Cordylines are a common sight in seaside towns, due to the fact that cabbage palms are a surprisingly hardy and fast-growing tree, with an exotic and tropical appearance. This species thrives in windy conditions and will happily tolerate both drought and dry conditions, as well as tolerating the salt spray from the sea.
