The cliffs where made by shaping chicken wire, which was then covered with a modelling plaster bandage called 'mod roc'. The 'plaster of paris' was then shaped by hand, painted with a mixture of grey paint and sieved peat (to create a textured finish) and sprinkled with patches of green modelling scatter, to suggest the appearance of grass, moss and weeds.
