The top of the harbour wall is capped with concrete, which is showing signs of its age, being covered with yellow and orange lichen despite the constant salt-laden sea breeze. The ropes are tied lightly, to allow for the tide flowing in and out of the harbour, raising and lowering the floating boats moored to these rings.
