Photo showing three mature Atlantic / Blue Atlas Cedar trees (Latin name: Cedrus Atlantica Glauca) growing in the gardens of a large park. These trees are unusual in that despite their considerable size and age, they have not suffered any significant storm damage. Cedar branches seem to get quite brittle and heavy as they grow and often break in strong gales or under the weight of snow in the winter. As they are evergreen, they are affected much more by winter winds than deciduous trees. These particular cedars are fortunate in that they are growing in a fairly sheltered position.
