Photo showing a large London plane tree (Platanus acerifolia) that has fallen over in a park, after severe winter storms and strong winds. Several years later, it is still growing quite happily, being surrounded by azaleas / rhododendrons with bright red flowers. This particular species is a hybrid of American sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) and Oriental plane ( Platanus orientalis), and is extremely tolerant of pollution.
