Stock Images of Carrots (Vegetable Gardens)

Pictures include some carrot plants that are being grown in organised rows within vegetable gardens and allotment plots. These plants have feathery, fern-like leaves that are very attractive when grown as part of an ornamental kitchen garden. Many gardeners suffer at the hands of the infamous and rather problematic carrot fly, whose larvae feed on the roots and can cause considerable damage to an entire crop. Therefore, sparse sowing (to prevent necessary thinning), cloches, chemical insecticides and companion plants are all methods adopted by vegetable gardeners, while some cultivars do seem to be less susceptible to this pest.
